Another Inconsistancy

I know this has probably been mentioned before but I noticed in one episode Kramer went on this hilarious rants about Coma's, in a season 3 episode ("The Coma"). But then in season 8, in "The Comeback", he knew nothing about them.

Season 3: he says if someone doesnt come out of a coma within 48(or was it 24) hours, that everything of theirs is up for grabs.

Season 9: Kramer watches a movie and is amazed when he finds out it's possible to come out of a coma.

but then again, there is another inconsistancy : I referred to the second even as happening in season 9, when it actually (as I stated earlier) happened in season 8. So I guess nobody's perfect..)

Sorry if this isn't totally accurate but, I believe in one particular episode, Kramer said something about how he hated taking baths..."your lying there, in a tempered water of your own filth..."...I think this was the episode where the shower pressure was right down...

But then later on in the episode where George was busted taking a pee in the shower at the sports centre...they were all at Jerry's appartment asking each other if they had done it...and when they asked Kramer..."have you ever taken a pee in the shower?"..he replied with..."I take baths..."

This is just something on my mind, and I may be wrong, so if I am can someone please post and clear this up for me :)

Yes. You're right. This is something that always bothered me too. There are other inconsistencies in Seinfeld too (like when Jerry has tickets to the Super Bowl, he is asked why he didn't give them to Kramer, and he responds, "Kramer only likes Canadian football", ("The Label Maker" -episode 98) yet in "The Masseuse" (episode 73), Kramer jumps at the chance to go to a NY Giants football game with Elaine and Joel Rifkin) There are others...but this show is (was) so great that I really hate to notice these things. I forgive these small details in favour of the show's overwhelming entertainment value.

One thing with Kramer is that ideas constantly pop into his head, and he becomes really enthusiastic about them. They may be inconsistencies in the sense that the writers didn't think about them, but at the same time, Kramer is probably the most inconsistent person around - he may very well have liked only Canadian football at some point and then at another time have loved American football. Just think about some other ideas that he's had, which he was all fired up on, and then lost interest in soon after, such as the levels and pillows etc.

You raise a very good point about the Kramer character. He does change his "mind" on a whim. And as I replied earlier in this thread, I would love to believe that this is in fact what the 'intention' was. However, I am certain that these things are just oversights on the writer's parts (while they are GREAT, they are only human). I say this only because there are other inconsistencies with other characters as well. (ie The actor who played Jerry's father changes without explanation, Jake Jarmel is a cop in an earlier episode, Elaine doesn't do 'the little kicks' in other episodes when dancing etc.) It is just much easier to accept with the Kramer character because of his nature (...which is a good thing, kinda allows his whole 'crazy' world to make sense) Chris Nyborg wrote in message news:76p51r$gve$[email]...

We know that sometimes Kramer takes a bath and sometimes a shower: in "The Hot Tub" he takes baths and in "The Apology" he takes showers. Maybe the show was inconsistent at this point, but then again, maybe it's Kramer who has been inconsistent: when he is desperate to take a shower he says he hates baths, but when he is asked about peeing in the shower he says he takes baths, just to avoid answering a question.

That's a pretty clever cover. I'm pretty sure that this is not really what they intended, but I like the idea anyways.

There are too many other inconsistencies (non-Kramer related) to believe that this is a case of Kramer being evasive.
