registration stickers

Noone but New Yorkers will understand this - but in the scene where Jerry is trying to get the Maid to take his money on the street, when he is sitting in his car, the car's registration stickers on the windshield were taped on. Now why is this funny? It's a well-known fact in NY that the state DMV cannot make registration stickers that actually STICK to the windshield. You follow the directions, soak it in water, plop it on your windshield and the next day the sticker is lying on your dash. Everyone I know has their sticker taped to their window.

So kudos for slipping in a bit of fun at the expense of the New York State bureaucracy.

They work fine if you DON'T follow the directions..........I learned from an old family secret that goes way back when the directions DID work......of course now I live in Vermont and the sticker is on the license plate itself so it's a wasted talent.....I never had to put one piece of tape on any of mine while I lived in NY

Good eye...but I'd have to say my favorite "New York" moment in this show was the short but oh-so-true discussion of which "Ray's Pizza" Kramer was near...for you non-NYers, there's one on every corner, all hoping to cash in on the REAL "famous original" Ray's. This was great on the show...they could have done more with it -- maybe a whole episode based on some misunderstanding about at which Ray' to meet -- but then I guess the rest of the country and world wouldn't get it.

Now this is funny because in NY it is a well-known fact that the DMV cannot make a registration sticker that actually sticks to the window. You follow the directions, soak it, plop it on your windshield and the next morning the sticker is lying on your dash. Everyone I know has their registration stickers taped on their windshields. Now I've noticed this year that the inspection stickers are also falling off. Time to get more tape.
