Anyone seen the 'Soup-Nazi' episode? :) That's the Best episode! :)

      "Soup Nazi" Al Yeganeh, who sells soup and allegedly insults
      customers in his Manhattan kitchen, recently refused Jerry
      Seinfeld's apology for calling him a Nazi, Variety reports. "For
      three minutes I just kept cursing him and he just kept saying,
      'I'm sorry,'" said Yeganeh. The soup seller's business has
      reportedly not suffered.

Whoa... So the Soup Nazi guy really exists in real life??

Yup... and so does Kramer. The "Real" Kramer even has a web site which has a picture of the "Real" Soup Nazi and other real-life versions of the people and places you see on the show. The "Real" Kramer has started "Kramer's Reality Tours" in New York. Check it all out at:

I was reviewing textbooks for a composition class I'm teaching and one of them included a reprint of an article from "The New Yorker" circa January 1989 -- on Al Yeganeh. The writer of the article is not identified -- it's an "On the Town" piece, which were not credited in those days. It's hilarious because the entire bit about no talking, moving to the left, and have your money ready, etc., are all in there. "'Just don't talk. Do what he says,' a man huddled in a blue parka warned." I started cracking up!

I feel like adopting the book just so we can read that essay! And, although it's a brand new edition of the text, there is no mention at all of the "Soup Nazi" controversy or "Seinfeld."
