coffee

I have a question, this may not be reverent but anyway. In the show "The Seven" Jerry is giving George ideas for baby names and looking in the cupboard for names.... Mug, sauce, Maxwell house was one of the names. Therefore this leads me to believe he has coffee in the cupboard. However, in the show "The library" when Mr. Bookman visits Jerry at his appt and Jerry says he doesn't have coffee. This makes me wonder if Jerry actually has coffee and didn't want to offer Mr. Bookman any? or do you think he really doesn't have coffee?

There is a lot of inconsistency to Jerry liking coffee, in the pilot ep (Good News....) Jerry drinks coffee while George complains about the decaff, but then on and off thru the years, he is switching from drinking coffee, to saying he doesn't like or drink coffee or keep any in the apt. We can asume that sometimes he is probably drinking tea, cause he makes it a few times at the apt. (example "The Couch" and "The Blood") but you never really know.

Well, since "The Library" happened before both "The Contest" (in which George complains about the instant coffee), and "The Seven", it's possible that Jerry really didn't have any instant coffee for Bookman, but bought some afterwards (on Bookman's suggestion)...

The Maxwell House in "The Seven" is probably four years old!

Actually, mr. Bookman asked for instant coffee. But you are right, there are inconsistencies. I remember another episode (don't know the name) in which Jerry says he doesn't have coffee in his house because he "likes to get his coffee on the outside".

We also might assume Jerry is lying and he just doesn't want to give bookman a coffee and "socialize" with him.

Jerry loves tea- Morning Thunder to be exact we know this becauseat Elaine once tampered with it to give him a caffine hit similar to what George got from Claire in The Seinfeld Chronicles.

By the way,Jerry doesn't seem to be very informed as to what he has in his apartment kitchen anyway. He is constantly looking for things and USUALLY finds them. I recall the time he was actually amased he had some Ritz Bits for Kramer. He was less surprised he found the wine for Laura but was not totaly sure he had any. Finally I beleived he looked high and low to find the bottle of Hennigans (he seemed surprised again he had any ) for Kramer's breathe test thing. Part of this problem might be that Kramer has free run of Jerry's kitchen and anything Jerry buys might by sliding out the door without Jerry's knowledge.

Actually Elaine didn't tamper with it, Morning Thunder already has caffeine. It's just that Jerry doesn't know it. At least this is how Elaine explained it.

Also, Jerry searched his kitchen for champagne to celebrate George's engagement to Susan, but couldn't find any.
