"The Parking Space" - When she tells Jerry about how she and George escaped teenagers that were chasing them in Jerry's car (includes that great "fake shot" of Hennigan's)

"The Pen" - Stelluh! Stelll-uhh!

"The Little Kicks," of course

Can't remember which episode...When she went rabid from a dogbite

"The Scofflaw" - When she throws George's hairpiece out the window

"The Subway" - When we can hear her thoughts while the train is stopped

"The Pez Dispenser" - Her reaction when Jerry puts the Pez dispenser on her leg

"The Opposite" - The expression on her face when she throws Jerry's $20 out the window

-great Elaine moments snipped-

I always liked the scene from "The Abstinence" where a lack of sex makes her stupid and she's just standing in front of a tire shop watching the rotating tire display with rapt attention and childlike glee.

Oh, and the scene from "The Gum" where she loses her top button and the guy on the street spritzes her with the hose.

Boutros Boutros-Ghali!! ;-)

The Van Wyck speech

(Elaine enters. She's still wearing her nightclothes under her coat. Her hair is messed up. She's been through quite an ordeal) ELAINE: (Slow, as if remember a dream) I never new I could drive like that. I was going faster than I've ever gone before, and yet, it all seemed to be happening in slow motion. I was seeing three and four moves ahead, weaving in and out of lanes like an Olympic skier on a gold metal run. I knew I was challenging the very laws of physics. At Queens Boulevard, I took the shoulder. At Jewel Avenue, I used the median. I had it. I was there.. and then.. I hit the Van Wyck. They say no one's ever beaten the Van Wyck, but gentlemen, I tell you this - I came as close as anyone ever has. And if it hadn't been for that five-car-pile-up on Rockaway Boulevard, . . . that numbskull would be on a plane for Seattle right now instead of looking for a parking space downstairs.

Something always bugged me about that. It was Jerry's car. She left a virtual unknown, one that she didn't even like, to park Jerry's car by himself.

Jeez, I don't even let my closest friends drive my car and it's worth less than a Saab.

A good Elaine moment is in the contest - taking the money out of her handbag and puting it on the counter.

I have to agree with this one. She was so sheepish when she entered the apartment! With this one scene she is able to destroy any misconceptions that people have about women.

Elaine wanted to get away from that guy as soon as possible so jumping out at Jerry's is consistent with the plot line. And she drove Jerry's car like a maniac anyway, so she has no qualms about not protecting it. So that does make sense to me.

Elaine's actions made sense, Jerry's lack of response to a stranger driving his car, maybe not. Maybe he was engrossed in her story so he didn't say anything.

Yeah, from The Lip Reader:

Elaine: Oh didn't work. He caught me hearing. I know it's terrible, but I'm not a terrible person.

Jerry and Kramer: No.

Elaine: No. When I shoo squirrels away, I always say "get
out of here". I never ever throw things at
them and try to injure them like other people.

Jerry: That's nice.

Elaine: Yeah, and when I see freaks in the street I never,
ever stare at them. Yet, I'm careful not to
look away, you know, because I want to make the freaks
feel comfortable.

Jerry: That's nice for the freaks.

Elaine: Yeah, and I don't poof up my hair when I got to a movie so people behind me can see. . . .

Her speech in "Van Wyck"" was a classic, but the best part was when she was trying to get the guy dressed and out of the apartment.

In the Backwards one, G'nite Jugdish, and when she's holding on to Jerry outside the room and she says what if she got her noise pierced. "That'd be pretty freaky" while looking directly at Jerry with a glazed look in her eye. And subsequently when she falls down Jerry going ooooooooooooooooooohpps. That's my favourite Elaine bits, in that scene.

Also:

"Maybe the dingo ate your baby"

when she pushed Kramer thru a door when she found out the Soup Nazi gave her the armoire

Kevin

When she grabs Georges toupee off his head and throws it out Jerry's window - "I don't like this thing, and here's what I'm doing with it!"

Also, when George is doing the Opposite of everything, and he says something to Elaine that she doesn't like. I can't remember exactly what she says, but she was like ice, baby. It goes something like:

Elaine: "Was was that instinct, or the opposite of what you would normally say." George (terrified): "Instinct." Elaine "Stick with the opposite!" and slaps him on the head.

I'm a big fan of Elaine-George interactions. You know that Elaine has never really liked George, and I love it when George admits in one episode that he's scared of Elaine. (Trivia - which episode is that in?)

Cheers all, Chris

They are opposites, just as Jerry and Kramer are opposites.

Look at the shows where they did role reversals. It became even more obvious then. It was; Jerry <-->Kramer in The Chicken Roaster and Elaine <--> George in The Opposite and The Abstinence

Looking at the dynamic of the characters on a grid:

                              Kramer
                                  '
                                  '
           George ---------------------- Elaine
                                  '
                                  '
                               Jerry

"The Alternate Side" - When she's taking care of her older boyfriend who's had a stroke, and feeds him Yankee Bean soup

"The Masseuse" - "Remmie." (One of her suggestions for Rifkin's name change).

1. When she blew keith hernandez off for smoking. 2. When the guy took "IT" out. 3. when kramer took the picture of her and her nipple was showing. 4. The best and probably earliest example of Ms. L-D's comedic ability begins and ends with the hysterical scene in the episode ("The Busboy"?) where she has to rouse that bearded guy who's overslept out of bed and get him packed and on a plane so she can be rid him from her apartment. Absolutely hilarious. ("Shoes? Shoes weren't invented until the fourth century!" Etc.)

One of my fave Elaine moments! :) (paraphrased)
