Last Episode = worst ever

Well I was a fan of the show even BEFORE the the pilot, heck even before Jerry Seinfeld was born, and I thought the last episode, except for a few inconsistencies, was perfect.

I have been a Seinfeld fan since the FIRST season. I watched the pilot
when it first aired. Let me say that the pile of puke that aired last
night is so far removed from what Seinfeld used to be. The show really
started to go downhill after the Jerry pilot episode. The next season was
bad but it redeemed itself with the finale about George doing "the
opposite" of everything. Then George got the yankees job and Elaine
started working for Mr. Pitt. The show was then about each character in
his or her own life. And more recently the idiotic character of J.
Peterman and George's job at Play Now. Puddy was funny but his character
went way too far. Kramer became a stupid moron instead of a hipster dufus.
Dropping oil bombs on people and painting over lane lines on a highway.
The show used to be about how we could identify with how these four
characters deal with the real world. Jerry shaves his chest, George drives
across the country to "zing" someone. Elaine has become angry at
everything and has no conceivable reason for hanging out with the other
three. Not tho mention all the rediculous coincidences which have been
occuring. Like Kramer spilling paint thinner on the highway then Elain
dropping the sewing machine THEN Newman driving over the same highway, the
only car after Elaine, snags it, makes sparks at the spot over the paint
thinner. Give me a break! I guess its just good riddance then.
	Problems with the series finale:
	1. Meeting with executives at NBC is not funny the second time
around especially when all the same jokes are used. (name spelling, George
acting like a pompus jerk)
	2. George saying he cheated in the contest. THat was one of the
best episodes ever and now George cheated? Please.
	3. Elaine says "Jerry, I've always..." Then later she says she was
going to say "I've always loved U..nited Airlines." I didn't even crack a
smile.
	4. I watch Law & Order. I don't need enough legal talk to put me
asleep in a sitcom not to mention the Seinfeld finale!
	5. Jackie and Sydra? The only reason for that was so Jackie could
reuse the "They're real and they're spectacular" line which we all saw
coming a mile away.
	6. George's mom offering to screw the judge? What a whore! And did
she? If she did she obviously wasn't very good.
	7. I almost forgot: Geraldo! That was retarded! What was the
point? It wasn't even supposed to be funny and it provided useless
information about the trial.
	8. Flashbacks in the season finale? What is that, in case we don't
remember? Witness after witness talking about past episodes. I guess they
really have run out of new ideas.
	9. Good samaritan law for them? There are much worse people in
this world to have the nation watching a trial about people who watched a
carjacking. Plus the guy had a gun. What were they supposed to do? They
are allowed to laugh, it's a free country. Jackie should have argued that
instead of being a Johnny Cockrain / Sammy Davis Jr cartoon.
	10. Anywhere in the world and they choose Paris where George and
Elaine have both already been. Why the hell would they all agree so
easily on such a stupid place? (I've been there twice, it's not a "fun"
place to be. George and Elaine should know)
	11. Why wasn't the cockpit door locked?
	12. The whole thing was boooooriiing!
That's enough from me. I'll stick to watching my tapes of the old ones.
The Keith Hernendez episode and the crazy clown episode are the two best!
So are the Bookman episode and the one with the first mention on Art

You're exactly right!!! The whole finale SUCKED BIG TIME and you spelled out pretty much all the reasons. It started off relatively "normal", but then quickly nosed dived (and I don't mean just the plane). Larry David must have thought: Let's see, what can I do? Oh, I know, I'll just bring in a bunch of the old characters. BUT, how can I do that? Hmmmmm. Oh, yeah, yeah, I know, a courtroom setting. Yeah, yeah, that'll work. Then he calls up the others and says: I got it, I got it...and they all went down to the studio as is. Hell, it looked like Julia just got out of bed, hair look horrible, makeup was awful. The rest weren't with-it either. It was as if there were actually OTHER actors playing their parts. They certainly weren't acting the parts we've come to know and love. It was TOTALLY out of synch with any character representation in past episodes. There was absolutely NO originality. If you're going to bring back old characters, fine, but it SURE could have been done better. Why on earth put our heroes in jail? How the hell did they round up all these witnesses in such a short time? What jail ANYWHERE puts male and female prisoners in the same cell? Etc., etc., etc. Hell, I'm just going to pretend it never happened, just like the sequel to "The Blues Brothers", the ending of which was more or less ripped off for this finale. There was no brains at work for the Seinfeld finale...that's for sure. And damn, I left a bar early to run home and watch it...so I guess I'll go back now and continue where I left off...

I'm sure there were others as well that I missed. A good portion of the show just made fun of everyone who thought they knew how the show would or should end. I can't tell you how many stories I read in local papers where people said, "I think Elaine and Jerry should get married." What show were these people watching, Friends?

Well, I probably don't need to post since you pretty much took the words out of my mouth.

I loved the show since day one - long before anyone else jumped on the bandwagon. Actually, the show started going downhill as it started to get more and more popular. (Just like Cheers).

The finale was too long; it seemed as though they were just trying to fill up the time slot - George's mom going to see the judge went NOWHERE, ( why even put it in?), why have Geraldo's reporter come on and just name every witness that was just on the stand?, and it took SO long just to get them arrested for God's sake - go to NY, have the meeting, decide where to go, have Kramer fall in the cockpit (why even have him do that - why couldn't the plane just have mechanical problems on its own? it seemed like they were forcing him to act goofy) etc etc etc. I kept wondering "where the hell is this leading?". The thing is when they bomb they do it big time, and this whole season has been a drag - I miss shows like the Chinese Restaurant and the Contest. Oh well, it will always be a great show even if the end was lame-oh.
