an original helen hunt question

In late January I read, in the Philadelphia Inquirer that Helen Hunt was Portuguese, doesn't speak English, and reads all of her lines phonetically! Can someone please clear this up for me, so I can go on - and not stare at her while watching the show, trying to figure it out. Thanks! -Jen.

     that own computers and modems don't really know how to read, but they

Are you sure it was the "Philadelphia" and not the "National"???
