Episode: George Constanza Talks About Religious Conversion

The episode you are asking about was called The Conversion (episode # 72) which aired 12/16/93. George is daitng Shasha, a devoted Lathvian Orthadox young lady. George is getting serious about the young lady but senses the fact that Shasha & her family as so devoted to their Lathvian Orthadox religion, that his other religion will be a roadblock to furthering the relationship. George decides to convert JUST FOR THE GIRL. George naturally wants to go the quick root for his conversion. He eventually converts, only to find that Shasha is going away to Lathvia for a long period of time. Do not know anything about your SNL question.

"Senses the fact" is not really correct. The episode opens with Shasha *telling* George that she is going to have to stop seeing him because he doesn't share her faith.

I sent that post and it should be Sasha, sorry for the misspell. Also as to the episode number - it varies from guide to guide- using the TV Guide SEINFeld Forever tribute- It is Show # 72

There are a number of script sites out there, most have copies of the same 20-25 scripts that everyone has, but the most comprehensive Seinfeld script site to date is Mike, the News Guy's. It's nowhere near complete, but he does have more than any other site. Check out the URL at the bottom of one of his posts.

"The Conversion" (#72) Airdate: 12-16-93

George converts over to Latvian Orthodox to impress a girl. He first goes to the church and gets a quickie lesson in the religion. George studies with Jerry and decides to cheat on the conversion test by writing the answers on his hand. George's parents weren't too happy about his actions. George goes through with the ceremonies to convert and is welcomed to the faith of Latvian Orthodox. The girl that George converted for ends up going to Latvia for a year to visit relatives, leaving George sitting alone, once again at Monk's.

I don't know the episode of Seinfeld you're talking about, but I did happen to see the SNL episode and Mary Catherine Gallagher and Jerry talked about one or the other converting, but I can't recall if it was him or her.
