Any Dr. Katz, professional therapist (comedy central 10pm eastern) here ? Watching the episodes, I detected a slight Seinfeldian (new word here) content mixed with a heavier dose of Woddy Allen.
I would think that Dr. Katz would appeal to Seinfeld fans, and since there is no Dr. Katz group ... thought I would submit the Q here.
Ixalot, Dr. Katz is the most funny thing on Comedy Central right now. I try to tape all the episodes so I wont miss a single one. I just love when his patients get sidetracked and start sharing humorous stories of their lives. Also the interaction between him and his son is hillarious!!! Mike :)

i think Dr. Katz is NOTHING like Seinfeld. Dr. Katz is more of a ripoff of the old Bob Newhart show, with a lot of "B" material by Jonathan Katz's comedian friends. Seinfeld, on the other hand, is funny.

I am also a big fan of both Seinfeld and Dr. Katz. Although Seinfeld is better, Dr. Katz also has a great talent for making comedy out of little things in life. It's another show about "nothing", and the reason it's better than the other followups to Seinfeld is that it realizes the real magic of the show. Other followups like Friends, Single Guy, Caroline in the City, Drew Carey Show, and Boston Common don't work as well because they just try to throw a bunch of friends together and make it funny. But Dr. Katz uses the great Seinfeldian style of comedy without copying the "friends together" thing. I like the way Dr. Katz's patients talk about their lives and the hesitating way the characters talk. It's more realistic than other cartoons because people don't just say whole statements without stopping to think. But anyways, that's just my opinion. --Rob LeBlanc
Rob LeBlanc- exactly! My dad is a huge Seinfeld fan! He was tending the fire as I was watching it, and he looks up and goes, "Great voices!" and bursts out laughing. He loved it, and he's a psychologist so, anywayz.....

I love the Dr. Katz show. Too bad the new area I moved into doesn't get Comedy Central. Guess I'll just have to visit their web page. The shows are distinctly similar; not much happens, but it's incredibly hilarious!
