I think you're referring to Banya, a comedian who Jerry thinks to be mediocre (I don't recollect the exact words Jerry uses).
Banya gives Jerry a brand new Armani suit. Banya, previously size 40, is now size 42 because he is working out. So he offers Jerry, size 40, the suit. In return, they have a deal that Jerry would stand him a meal.

Jerry refers to him as a "hack", I believe. He reappears in the episode about the mentor. I think Jerry is dating a girl that has a mentor, and the mentor is dating Banya. Jerry expresses his dislike for the guy and calls him a hack when referring to his comedy act. Something about a 10-minute piece on Ovaltene, or something like that.

Banya sucks!....but I do love to say "thats gold Jerry"....he is definitely one of my least favorite characters...and btw its Ovaltine which is a nasty drink...Quick is much better

A minor point: "BanYa" is how I've spelled the name, but the Entertainment Weekly issue spells it "BanIa" (in all likelihood the way it appears in the credits) tho' of course it's pronounced with the Y. And, BTW, he's one of my MOST favorite characters on the show. ("Soup's not a meal!" "It's gold, Jerry. Gold!")
