I hope this show ends

I love seinfeld as much if not more than anybody. I was an original viewer, i.e. when nobody else was watching.

Unfortunately, the show has seriously gone down hill. And it is just sad for me to watch the decline of my favorite show of all time.

I think it is time for Seinfeld & Co. to call it quits, I don't want the poor quality of the recent shows to bring down the glory of the past episodes.

Just think about these episodes:

The boyfriend (Keith Hernandez), The Contest, The Keys, The Dream Cafe, The Chinese Restuarant, etc.

These were all hilarious. Can anyone think of any episodes of the past two years that even come close to these. I can't.

Actually, I think the current season has been great! How about "The Switch" and the Superman episode, to name two. I agree that the episodes you cite were terrific, too. Certainly all sitcoms have a limited lifespan, and woe to those that try to prolong it (by adding new "cute little kids" etc.), so Jerry's professed willingness to end the show when it loses its edge is reassuring. However, I don't believe Seinfeld is near this point yet.

I gotta second this. Each episode has become so ridiculously contrived. Remember when it was about "nothing"? Now it starts out with at least one peculiar quirk that will later create a funny situation. Then it snowballs all out of control to the point that it appears there are only 10 or 15 people who live in NY and they all know Jerry. They should try to cut the plot back to one or two strange thing happening per show rather than per character.

By the way, Seinfeld starts syndication next year.

I don't think it has gone down hill, I think we are just expecting more of it. Our Comedy inteligence has been raised, and thus, we expect more. 6 years ago, it was new, and refreshing, now it is not, because Seinfeld & Co is doing the same thing we loved.

The most obvious one is the 'Cosmo" episode :)..
