Elaine's Cigar

I've never seen anything more sexy, more seductive, or more exciting than Elaine and that damn cigar in The Calzone. It drives me crazy. Someone must post a GIF of the damn thing so I can have it on my computer forever. Please, Lanie...you're killing us out here!

You're kidding, right? I mean, this is some sort of joke, right?

What is so sexy about women smoking cigars? It does not make them look attractive at all. Women smoking cigars always makes me feel a little queasy.

If Elaine is trying to look chic or trendy, she should lay off the cigars, they make her look vulgar. I know this is a new trend in Hollywood, but, to me, it does not make women look attractive at all.

I suspect that those men who find it attractive are seduced by the quasi-phallic "subliminal" image it represents. This is pretty ham-handed psychology, but these guys see a woman lovingly caress a tubular object with their mouth..... It may not be conscious, but there ya go.

One other point: This 'trend' is not limited to Hollywood. On the local news a few weeks back they featured a women's cigar smoking club that meets monthly at a local coffee house. They said that between 20 and 30 women attend the meetings regularly. From what I could see, most of them looked to be well dressed business women. This also reminds me of that Tostitoes comercial where the women are sitting around playing poker, drinking beer, smoking cigars, and stuffing there face with chips. I love that comercial.

Mr. Martin strikes me as being a very reasonable and wonderful person -- mostly because he came to my defense. The earlier post that talked about the phallic nature of Elaine's cigar was on the point as well. Adding to the problem that if I saw Elaine sniffing a sock I would likely find something of the erotic in that.

So, to sum up. A cigar may be just a cigar, but Lanie, now she's a smoke.
