Man, the way some of you Netters out there are hacking down the "believe- ability" of Seinfeld leads me to believe that you won't be satisfied until you see an episode of Seinfeld where Jerry eats cereal for half an hour straight!! Then you can say "Ohhh!!! I've done that!! That's funny!!" Sheesh! It's a comedy!! Some of the situations *HAVE* to be a bit ridiculous!

Thank you for saying this! I've really been getting tired of people complaining about how "Well, that's never happened to me before!" It seems like the two most popular episodes among the Netters are "The Contest" and "The Junior Mint". I wonder how many people have actually participated in such a contest, and how many have actually dated virgins who then slept with an ex-president's son, or had a friend sleep with the naked woman across the street. Or, how many have witnessed surgery where a piece of candy (albeit very refreshing) was dropped into the patient. It's only a TV show, and a DAMN funny one at that. This, of course, is just MHO, but I think that this season might be a LITTLE sub-par, but certainly not as bad as some people tend to think. My faves: "The Barber" and "The Cigar Store Indian".

I agree.
Greg.
I don't mind absurdity. I don't, however, want my intelligence insulted with weak plot devices that lazy writers resort to after they've written themselves into a corner ("Ouch, I grabbed an iron! What a convenient ending for that subplot!"). The Seinfeld episodes I enjoy the most are the ones I can personally relate to, like being stuck on a subway car that's not moving, or waiting in line for a movie. And yeah, I think the bizarre stuff works alot of the time, but it seems like it's a fall-back for the writers when they can't come up with anything really witty.
