I saw her: "Becky Gelke." So that's Helen Slater.

I'd seen the episode before, of course--just didn't realize that's who I was looking at. And no credit, just as you said.

Pretty girl. Reckon I need to check out some of her movies. (I only recall Supergirl--and never did see more than maybe a half hour of it.) Any suggestions?

She also had a much better role in 'The Secret Of My Succes' where she was the female lead to Michael J Fox. This was her best role, a world away from that awful Supergirl film.

Agreed! Helen Slater's acting was still pretty awful, but the movie itself is a fun, light comedy.

Look for Margaret Whitton from Major League, John Pankow from Mad About You, and Fred Gwynne from... well, lots of stuff like The Munsters. :-) And scifi fans will recognize Richard Jordan as Duncan Idaho from Dune, and Francis from Logan's Run.

Okay. Sounds good. Let's see what the imdb says about it.. The comments at the imdb for the one someone mentioned here yesterday (The Secrets of My Success) got less than a sterling rating.

Uh-oh. Not very well rated here (for The Legend of Billie Jean) either. And she cuts her hair short? Sniff. As Morty Seinfeld might say, "I don't like the sound of that!"

A couple of other things about the beautiful Helen (according to the imdb): She is not related to Christian Slater and she is not from Great Neck L.I. (which is what I had heard when I lived there; maybe Christian is).

In fact, her name originally was Schlacter and (and!) she's from Massapequa L.I.--where I bank, just a few miles from my office. She was born just a few weeks after the Kennedy assassination.

Of course, we all know who else is from Massapequa . . . .

Her name is A.J. Langer and she is currently on NBC's "Three Sisters." She used to be on the show "My So Called Life." She was born in Ohio, but her family moved to CA when she was 5.

I saw one episode and it was pretty standard sitcom fare. But speaking of women on that show, I think Dyan Cannon still looks remarkably attractive at 64. Looks like she's 35, *maybe* 40. I suspect a Faustian deal... :-)

Same here--I'm 5'8", and most of my girlfriends have been around that 5'1" to 5'4" height.

Wow, this thread is creepin me out...What's the Oh, Dave about anyway? Also, ON TOPIC...AJ Langer is from Columbus, OH, my hometown! And people say there aren't hot chicks in Columbus, PSH. But the topper of the creepy factor was the fact that Vicki Lewis went to CCM at the Univ of Cincinnati, I walk by there frequently, seeing as how it's one of the two ways to get around campus now.
