I've always wondered one thing: why, at the beginning of the show, you see the name of Jerry, Julia, Michael and then it's "Jason Alexander as Georges". Why do they write "as Georges"? It's not the first show where I see this. I once thought it was because the actor plays a main character, but Jerry is the main character, not Georges.

It means that Jason Alexander has a better agent (or did when the show started). Anytime you see a character set off (or listed as a "special guest star" that means there was a bit or negotiating going on).
