"Betrayal" Inconsistency?

Dear Seinfeld Fans,

I was just watching the re-running of the "Betrayal" backwards episode tonight, which originally aired sometime last year.

When it originally aired, I seem to remember that at some point, on the airplane flight, Elaine asks Jerry when they are going to get there, and Jerry says you just asked me that ten minutes ago. Then a caption saying "ten minutes earlier" flashes up on the screen, and you see Elaine asking Jerry the question for the first time.

I recorded tonight's re-running of the "betrayal" and I reviewed my tape several times, but I didn't see that sequence in tonight's airing. Can someone tell me whether I just missed that part or whether the cut it out of tonight's re-running or whether I am simply confusing this with some other Seinfeld episode?

Re:editing

Didn't the original have a scene of Jerry saying "Godzundtite" and then "five seconds earlier", Kramer sneezing. A small point, insignificant to the plot, but important to what made this episode such a Gem. Unless I missed it, they edited it out.

And, didn't the original flash up the time sequences in between clips, ie on black screen, "two days earlier" for example, instead of at the bottom of the screen. The black screen seemed to add to the suspense and look of the episode. I may be wrong on this one.

wait! that's the second thing they cut out!! first the Kramer banging on the port a potty, and the time thing! I have the original air show and they are both in there!! Bastards

Jerry blessed Elaine when she sneezed not Kramer, and it was 3 seconds earlier. The titles were always at the bottom of the screen not on a black screen.

I would just like to say that when Elaine suggested to use the phrase, "You are sooooo... beautiful, instead of syaing the correct phrase, "God bless you." I felt that was a bit sacreligious. ou just don't do that. Respond.....

I noticed a scene was cut in the plane,but I noticed a new scene also.In the first airing,when Jerry put Elaine out of his (India) appartment (at that time Elaine is drunk and say how cool it would be to have her nose perced) the scene cut when Jerry close the door.But in last night airing,there's a bit more:Elaine open some sort of window to tell something to Jerry,and then we see a scene before the drinking.

However,because I live in Canada,Seinfeld is air by Global (because of the CRTC rules,NBC must Global's picture) that scene could have been in the original airing as well,but cut by Global.That would be strange,but Global already put the commercials at strange times,so it wouldn't surprises me.

That part WAS in the first run episode of The Betrayal. If anything this re-run cut out quite a few bits and pieces.

Elaine says "Goodnight Jugdish" through the slats in the door, and it was in the original airing in the US. But I do remember the "10 minutes earlier" thing on the plane was in that airing. And I taped this one so I know it was definitely not in this one.

I think this airing was at least 1m shorter than the first airing. I think they also cut the part where Kramer's waiting outside the port-a-potty. He runs away, then comes back to tell his friend he's leaving. There seemed to be a commercial break in a different spot also. I'd have to check again. NBC is getting quite, milking this show for all it can get. Maybe this is what the ep will look like in syndication. Very disappointed.

If this has already been cut for syndication does that mean all the other 9th season reruns I saw have been cut too? I didn't think so, since the Thursday show runs longer than the syndicated ones earlier in the day.

So I guess only the few episodes I've taped first-run are uncut. Well, tonight's (The Frogger) was screwed up by the local station and part of the prologue cut off in the middle - so I hope that part will be in the rerun!

Yeah, I thought something was different! One a different note, how 'bout this idea. How about re-editing the Betrayal so it's NOT backwards?
