The Dinner Party was weak

They replayed "The Dinner Party" the other night. This episode gets a lot of praise from the posters in this group. I didn't remember that show being particularly funny but I figured I could have been wrong the first time around.

Well I saw it the other night and I was right the first time. That is definitely one of the weakest Seinfelds. The only part remotely funny was the idea of George bringing Pepsi and Ring Dings to the party in lieu of wine and cake. The rest was lame.

Dressing up George in a bulky Gortex jacket was worthy of Happy Days. The show had an extremely trite everything-that- can-go-wrong-will-go-wrong sitcom plot. The scene in the bakery where Elaine tried to get someone's line number was not only unfunny but annoying. Why have a handicapped guy jab Elaine's foot with a cane? Cliched and stupid.

This episode was written 100% by Larry David and it provides ample proof that he is indeed fallible afterall.

You're a fool... no questions about it! This was the first episode I truly saw and it was the reason I started to watch the show! If it had been another show, then I may not have continued to watch on...

After watching the Dinner Party, i no longer get Birthday Cake from my friend as a gift, i get a Birthday Bobka and a black and white cookie.

Needless to say i have not vomitted since june 29, abot seven years ago.

Couldn't agree with you more. The Dinner Party is my 2nd-least favorite episode. Only The Chinese Restaurant is worse.
