Will George recover for the next season?

At the end of the Season Finale, "The Summer of George", we learn that George doesn't have a lot of chance to use his legs again, if we believe what the doctor said. Is there someone in this newsgroup who knows or have an idea if George will recover for the next season? If we believe the end of the episode (George falling while trying to walk), George does not seem to be able to walk. Will they use the sudden handicap of George to bring some all new situations to the show(George falling in love with his nurse, the Florence Nightingale syndrome(or is it Clara Nightingale? ref."The Junior Mint") or maybe they will do the coffee shop talking over the bed of George) or maybe he will recover for the next season and it was just the idea of this single episode, maybe also it's the way they will set a complete year of related episodes that will lead to the series finale(as we know Jerry doesn't want to make ten seasons and the next one will be the ninth). If you don't understand what I mean by a season of related episodes think at the 4th season when they had the idea for a show about nothing, a pitch at NBC, the writing of a pilot and finally the production of the pilot itself. Finally my last idea, (the worst), it would be a way to dump George off the show(Practically inconceivable idea). If you have any suggestions post them!!

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you meant the second Jerry. (I'd say the "nonfiction" Jerry, but how many "real" people do you know who have lives like _either_ Jerry?)

About George's "physical challenge": I really think the writers are playing with matches if they try to turn George's injury into a multi-episode storyline. The show makes lots of fun of plenty of "groups" -- ethnic and otherwise -- but over the years, they've taken a LOT of pokes at the "differently abled," like in the "handicap spot" episode. I am not offended personally, but it wouldn't surprise me if the "offended group" was. -- Nathan Dietz

One of the things I like most about Seinfeld, the series, is that lots of unexpected, slightly socially taboo things occur so often. Seinfeld has poked fun at dwarves, the deaf, and the elderly, not to mention several religions and ethnic groups. If Seinfeld's willing to poke fun at the elderly and risk the rathe of AARP, which is one of the largest political orgaizations in the United States, I wouldn't put anything past him.

Frankly, I prefer to wait and see what happens to the George character on Seinfeld next season. Only the writers, producers, and actors on Seinfeld know for sure right now what will happen and that is certainly subject to change at any time. They can either exploit George's condition to get some more material for the show or maybe have him be cured in the first episode of next season or anything else. I suspect that George's paralysis will be the topic of several shows next season so they can get new material and provide George with more things to talk about after he gets miraculously healed later in the season ... or I could be totally wrong. We'll just have to wait, watch, and see.

I beleive they will do what they did with Susan's (RIP) Foundation and use it for the first one or two episodes in the ninth season, then forget about it, and occasionally use it to explain why George is doing a particular event. (Example: When George dates the embesseler at that woman's prison, his reason for being in the prison at the time is the Foundation donated money to it.)

Anyways, that's my opinion!
