I Give you, the candy lineup

The classic George that, to my mind, may be equalled (independant George, Summer of George, George's answer phone) but cannot be surpassed:

"Wouldn't you agree he would have no problem picking one out from a candy lineup" "A candy lineup?" "I've spent the last hour preparing 10 candy bars, with no wrappers or identification of any kind for him to select from" "Took you an hour?" "I give you, the candy lineup" "And you, how many twix does that make for you today?, like 8 twix?" "Now give me one, give me a twix"

I never understood why George didn't just eat some of these Twix that he bought if he was so extremely hungry. We never found out where he bought these from. Obviously not in the vending machine because George didn't have any money right? That is why he had to borrow a dollar from Jerry for the first Twix that got stuck.

Yeah, that's why The Dealership is one of my least favorite episodes. As I've mentioned before, it starts out so promising with George's problems with the vending machine and Kramer's test drive, but then it ends so poorly with the candy bar lineup problems you pointed out, not to mention Kramer's salesman unexpectedly going nutty.

I like the tone of the manager when George introduces him to the candy lineup. The disbelief, mixed with a little sarcasm, rolls off his tongue so well.

See, here's what I've always thought :

As hungry as George is, it's more important to him to prove he's right - hence using the candy bars as "proof" rather than food.

True, but if George had access to other candy bars and the money to pay for it, it just makes the entire plotline useless and pointless.

What would have stopped him from buying an extra candy bar for himself? Obviously, he couldn't have been THAT hungry, and it gives me less reason to sympathize, or for that matter care.

I agree, this is one of my least favorite episodes too. It's as if the writers just gave up halfway through it.

Thats George at his worst I'm afraid - any by worst I mean unfunny and lame.

I have to admit though, I lauged my ass off when George yelled to the salesman "Hold it, one more step and we're walking" just because he said "May I help you".
