Is it just me???

I would like to know if since Seinfeld has been moved is anyone watching Home Improvement. If not then why not??? It is a great show Tim Allen is possibly the funniest man, next to Jerry Seinfeld of course.

The Builders Square commercials don't help much either. How many times does he have to say "wuuuuhhhh" in 30 seconds?

I do like the new Seinfeld slot okay. I wish they'd put Mad about you on instead of Cheers reruns.

It's the implementation that fails, not the premise. The writer's for Seinfeld could easilly succeed with the premise "Jerry and Elaine get lost, and Jerry refuses to ask for directions". Seinfeld's writers are just better.

     Okay, I admit that I watched a few minutes of The Jackie Thomas
     Show last night.  (Don't stone me.)  Did anyone else see the
     episode?  The premise was a writers strike in Hollywood, and in
     a bar a bunch of writers were gathering after a day on the
     picket line.  There was a nice little exchange between the
     JTS writers and Seinfeld writers, each deprecating the writing
     on the other show.  Almost fisticuffs at the end.

Don't be embarrassed!   Jackie Thomas is a pretty decent show.   As a
faithful Roseanne watcher I stay tuned for this one about 50% of the
time, and I've always been impressed by what I've seen.   I don't like
Tom Arnold, but he doesn't hog the show and the supporting cast is very
good.  And this show makes *so* much fun of itself that the less you like
Mr. Arnold, the more you'll enjoy it.   It really is a mock on the
old standard sitcom [one of the writers in the show was supposedly an
ex-Brady Bunch writer!], so I would think this aspect would appeal to
the average Seinfeld fan.

This scene was excellent.   I noticed the picket signs saying
"Seinfeld writers on strike" and was hoping they'd do something
with it.   One  of the JTS writers started mimicking a Seinfeldesque
monologue, which prompted one of the "Seinfeld writers" to parody
Jackie Thomas [Tom Arnold].   Very well done.   One of the quips
about Seinfeld was that the show would actually be getting better
now that the writers are on strike.

I sense that The Jackie Thomas Show has some sort of respect for Seinfeld as its polar opposite or something!

also mentioned by the "Seinfeld writers" was the fact that the show was worse now that the network was forcing them to add plots to the show.

I particularly enjoyed the line from a Jackie Thomas writer that went a little like this: They made it a show about nothing so the writers could write about what they know!

agreed. last night there was *nothing* else one (except the grammies, which is where i ended up) so i gave HI another try. i *like* tim allen in standup, he's absolutely hilarious. but this show just sucks. the writing sucks, the direction sucks, and the acting sucks. it is embarrassingly stupid, typical primetime sitcom drivel. i mean, it's no worse than the rest of the family comedy sitcoms, but that's high praise indeed.

i'm glad that seinfeld's move has been beneficial to everyone; hey, live and let live, sezzi. i am especially glad that some folks who were HI diehards now have a chace to see the rror of their ways. but let's not kid ourselves, shall we? home improvement blows.

.. I was disappointed with tonight's show. It almost bordered on boring at times. I expected to like it especially well in my overtired state, but it just wasn't a good show tonite (although it was still MUCH better than most of what else is on the tube). I thought the whole old people theme was kind of dumb, but Kramer was hilarious as usual, and that fat guy is funny, too. Everytime he comes on I think of the spitting episode (was Jerry attracted to Keith Hernandez???...) I missed a show or two...why did Jerry bristle when Kramer came in with the fat guy?

    I have also been watching HI since the move of Seinfeld to
Thursday.  I have felt that these are two of the best shows on
TV, because I think both have great stand-ups doing their act
on the small screen.  I feel that Jerry is closer to his act,
because TA is better on TV because he has the wife and kids to
play off of his "more power" exploits.
    To those of you who pan HI, they cater to completely
different audiences, as Tim Allen said on The Tonight Show.
This is because of the kids on his show, so he is attracting
a wider demographic group.
    Did anyone have the same problem when Anything But Love
and Seinfeld were on at the same time a couple of seasons ago.

In the two weeks since the move, HI has moved up to second in the ratings, getting its highest ratings ever. Last week only the Michael Jackson interview beat it, and I don't remember what beat it the week before. Seinfeld has moved way up to 10th and 8th, its highest ratings ever. The move definitely helped both shows.
