Jackie Come Lately

Now that the initial delight over the announcement of plans for a Jackie Chiles show- something occured to me.

I don't know who created Jackie, or how it was done, or who wrote those classic scenes, but they better have them on board- whether it be ex-Seinfeld writers or producers etc.

  Because according to the article in Variety,   Phil Morris was inspired by
response to that mini van commercial.  If Morris thinks that was funny,  or
classic Jackie Chiles,  he is sadly mistaken and out of touch with his own
character.    The fact the TV ad was so flat  would seem to (possibly) indicate

As I was saying-

The fact the (Honda) TV ad was so flat would seem to (possibly) indicate that Morris is not the driving force behind Jackie Chiles. He'd better have some old Seinfeld guns in powerful positions at the new show if it's gonna make it. Some people who know how to generate some classic Jackie, and build on the guy. One cool thing about Morris, which could mean great things for the spin off- he seems to have range (like a good character actor). I didn't even realize that was him on the new Love Boat until the Variety article last week. Not that I watched the Love Boat, but I had seen their ads- Entertainment Tonight etc. The mini van ad was, as I said, flat. And if Morris thinks Jackie is all him, and we're gonna get more of that lame commericial, it ain't gonna fly. I'm excited, but I hope this doesn't turn out to be a very, very bad decision by Jerry Seinfeld.
