Why do the characters get the shaft so often? Its turning into a
depressing comedy. What usually happens at the end of the show is:
1. Someone will owe someone else (non-main char) a heap of money.
2. Someone misses out on a really hottt date.
2a sometimes its the end of a relationship with a 'knockout'
3. An excellent oppurtunity arises, but, your watching Seinfeld so;
3a The character 'must' decline.
3b The situation forces the character to miss out.
4. A certain character goes on national TV and has a bad show.
Was there ever a show when things worked out for someone?
For a show idea I'd like to see all the characters have
'The Best Day of Their Lives' , but at the end they'll probably
be detained at the coffee shop by the swat patrol and miss out... again.
All of these things are funny. ``It's funny because it's not happening to me.'' Consider the alternatives.
1. Somebody finds a heap of money.
2. Somebody has a really hot date.
3. An excellent opportunity arises, which is taken.
4. A certain character goes on national TV and has a good show.
5. Everybody meets at a Chinese restaurant; their table is ready.
These aren't funny; they're boring. (Unless they happen to Kramer.) Much as we hate to admit it, we all enjoy the misery of others.
