This Show Is Starting To Be About... Something!!!

These first two episodes of the season show that the plotlines are straying from what makes "Seinfeld" the great show it is: the convoluted twists and turns. It's as if the veteran Seinfeld viewer has figured out the formula and knows exactly what's going to happen, a la "Three's Company" or any run-of-the-mill sitcom. We know that "Godfather" Newman will hatch a scheme to help out Kramer, Elaine will find herself in situations in which her self-centeredness will be highlighted, George's paranoia runs amok and Jerry goes through the motions with his devil-may-care attitude. They should start bringing back guests who would portray the "cartoonish" characters like the Close Talker, the Soup Nazi, the Woman Whose Name Rhymes With A Body Part, the Woman Who Wears the Same Outfit, Jean-Paul Jean-Paul, Mr. Pitt, Abu and so forth. We're all already familiar with the principal characters, let the writers throw them back in with other people with particular neuroses. The value of Larry David must've been underestimated, I hope he's been watching and decides to come back and salvage his baby.
