OK, In the adbsence of a single guy group I just want to say that Single Guy is still awful and I'm _very_ surprised the other networks haven't put something against it in the 8:30 time slot.

Woah there... I am not a huge fan of The Single Guy (I suspect it's the writing rather than the cast though); I watch it cause it sits between Friends and Seinfeld, but only get a few laughs out of it. But Caroline is genius! I love it, and I think the fact that it was moved from its piggyback slot on Thurs to a more independent night reflects its strength. I won't go too far into it here, since this is the Friends group, but my opinion is Caroline is a fun show with well developed characters and really sly writing.
And no, I've never heard of the Bonnie Hunt Show, so can't give an opinion there.

I enjoyed The Bonnie Hunt Show for all of the three or four episodes that it lasted. Its downfall was that it didn't have the flashiness that the American public is used to. It was funny, touching, and unusually intimate for a TV show, but it was low key - too low key for most.
Take a look at any TV show and count the ways they make it seem bigger than real life. Most if not all are brighter and cleaner, the people more attractive, the dialogue more interesting, the events more exciting. Did I mention T&A? Seinfeld claims to be about nothing, which it mostly is, but in with the nothing is a whole lot of extra stuff (unlikely coincidences, bizarre characters, attractive people, unusual events). Not that I'm complaining - I love the show. Its just that a good show like Bonnie Hunt suffers by comparison. The show was just too natural.
Note that an episode that many people proclaim as the best or the worst, "The Restaurant," relies very little on the flashy and quirky stuff - its all character. Just food for thought.

Well, there were 2 attempts buy Letterman to gie his pal Bonnie a show: The Bonnie Hunt Show and The Building. Both used mostly the same cast, but The Building had a hilarious episode with David Letterman holding Hunt and pal hostage while robbing a video store. I like The Single Guy, although I hate it that they got rid of Mark Moses ("Matt Parker") who was one of the cutest men on television! Oh well...I never liked Caroline, and I thought Bonnie was so-so. I must say though, nothing sucked (alltime) as bad as Boston Common. I live in Boston and I hate the show. I can't believe (file under Family Matters, etc.) that the show is still on!!

Hey! I liked the Single Guy since the very first episode. I like it as much as I like Friends. While Caroline is a mediocre show, I would hate to see it go. All shows on NBC now is pretty good, I don't think I can think of one that I want to get rid of. The only one I haven't seen is the Jeff Foxworthy show, so I can't comment on that.

Yes, totally! I still think Trudy and Sam are funny, especially Trudy. That married couple was lots better than the goofy blond across the hall. I do not understand her role in the show at all.
