Was not thinking too clearly tonight after the Packers gave the playoff game away to the Eagles, but while flipping through the channels the actress that plays Jerry's mom was on Larry King Live because they were doing a show on James Dean. There was a graphic up under her that said that he proposed to her! Does that mean that maybe they were engaged when he was killed?

Sorry if this is old news to the group...I have not been hanging out here too long.

Just wanted to post it because it seemed so bizarre.

It was well known that the actress who played Jerry's mom-- used to date James Dean. She could not have been attractive match for the matinee idol good-looks Dean. With her bumpy nose and her other somewhat other homely features-- Dean must have been looking for more in a girl (it was often reported that Dean was bi-sexual)-- than just looks. Maybe he was attracted to her flashy eye-catching clothes-- that she likes to wear. Phil Wexler
