Kramer's first name

Forgive me if this has already been asked, but was the show better when Kramer was just Kramer? I kind of liked not knowing his first name; indeed, not knowing whether Kramer was his first or last name.

I don't think it's made a difference. There was the funny scene in Trip, when the cops found Kramer's movie treatment: "The Keys by Kramer". His first name was obviously torn from the piece of paper because "Kramer" was off to the right, while "The Keys" and "by" were centered.

I was disappointed when his name was revealed only because our newspaper printed it the day it was aired, spoiling the surprise. It was funny in the next few episodes that they worked Cosmo into the dialogue. The funniest was when Kramer got the wrong liscence plates and he said, "I'm Cosmo Kramer, the Assman!"

I agree. Recently on Duckman, Duckman's first name was revealed, but for some reason, I didn't mind this time. Maybe it's because he has the same first name as me though (a thing I like to brag about whenever I can.)

It was actually revealed in an earlier episode that Kramer was his last name. Kramer complements Jerry on a triangle he doodled and Jerry says its an isoceles triangle. Kramer then says "if I ever have a kid, I'm going to name him Isoceles...Isoceles Kramer"

Finding out Kramer's first name was almost as bad as finding out another elusive first name back when i was in gr.5...remember MacGyver??

Well, I guess it wasn't that much of a difference to me, because the show still had all those funny episodes. It didn't make anything any less funny. Although, when he was trying to get intot hat stadium and the guy said, "What if you're not Kramer?" he goes, "Look at me. Huh? Can you tell me I'm not Kramer?" or something like that. That was hilarious in itself. So after a while of being called Cosmo, they went back to Kramer again.

Besides, Newman still has his secret.

If they were going to reveal his name, it would have been funnier if the name turned out to be something really dull and commonplace--We all expected a wacky name like Cosmo.

I think you need to post an apology to me and many others, Mark. Do you live in a suburb of Orem, Utah or something? Cosmo is a nice and normal name.

Any suggestions out there for what a better (or funnier) first name for Kramer would have been?

It was more interesting that way, which is why I hope we never find out Newman's full name. I'm glad they got tired of that and just call him Kramer now.
