Fans discuss scenes from "The Betrayal" that appear to have been cut from reruns, including Kramer banging on the Port-a-Potty, FDR's rock-in-snowball bit, and Jerry's milk-covered keys.
I noticed something that was left out in the rerun but was in the premiere of the episode....
When Kramer runs off leaving Lomez in the Port-a-Potty, the scene fades out. But in the premiere, he jumps back and bangs on the potty saying "Lomez, I'm leaving" or something like that. I thought they only cut syndication episodes? Anyone else notice this?? I only did because I watched my tape 2 weeks ago.
I don't remember that part but wasn't there a part at the begining (or is it the end?) that was taken out right after FDR threw the snowball at Kramer after Kramer says thank you FDR, in the original FDR says something like he also put a rock in the center of the snowball and Kramer says "yeah I felt that"? Am I dreaming? Did this happen? Anyone have an original copy to check?

i checked my premiere tape. the only difference is what i had originally posted: Kramer slamming on the port-a-potty and telling Lomez he was leaving
There was more cut from this episode: after FDR hit Kramer with the snowball - FDR said "I put a rock in it" and Kramer responded "I felt it".
That's 3 things left out!!! WTF?!?
In searching for more info on missing scenes I've discovered there are more episodes rerun that have had scenes cut and that this is done to accommodate the ever increasing amount of commercials that plague TV today.
on average they cut out 2 whole minutes per episode to accommodate all the freaking commercials to pay for the rights to syndication. Allen

But the network that produced the program is re-running it; that's not the same as syndication. One of the reasons why the networks re-run their programs is because it's whole lot cheaper than making twice as many (or in this day and age, four times as many; seasons have gotten quite short!).

They are also playing more commercials to cover the outrageously higher and higher salaries of the actors!

They also left out the bit about Elaine asking Jerry (or vice versa) what time it is on the plane. Also, in the original, right before lifting the schnapps bottle with her teeth, she was wondering why her tooth was chipped. now it just cuts to the bottle shot & you don't get the gag.
will the uncut episodes ever be shown again? maybe on some cable channel?

They cut the part where Elaine asks Jerry what time it is on the plane (and two minutes earlier when she asks the same question and when she wonders why her tooth is chipped--from the peach snapps).
Also cut was after FDR threw the snowball at Kramer and he said that he put a rock in it and Kramer said that he felt it...
