What did everybody think of the Rye? I thought it was very funny, but it can't be compared to The Contest.

The Rye was automatically a great episode for obvious reasons. It was better than the Contest for obvious reasons but not as good as Bubble Boy, Two Worlds Collide, Bosco, Cheever Letters, or the opening two episodes this season.

2 Worlds Collide, is an episode earlier this season, when George objects to Susan's wanting to hang out with Jerry, Elaine, and Kramer,et al...he's afraid it will be like matter/antimatter...the Contest is after the Pilot episodes, and long before Elaine and Mr. Pitt.

The Contest is several seasons before the Elaine/Mr. Pitt sequences. I believe it is during the Season about Nothing. Jerry runs into the virgin in a bar when he and George are supposed to be writing the script for the pilot. During the viewing of the pilot, one of the cameos is of Jane Leeves (the virgin) and a mystery guest (I don't want to give away any secrets) commenting on the pilot. I hope this helps.

So if they show them in order, they either skipped it or already showed it. I tried to watch all of them, and remember The Virgin one from a couple weeks ago, but don't remember seeing The Contest.

The Contest didn't have Susan, the Rye did. It wasn't that hard to come to my conclusion.

Ok, ok... I like the Susan character, and have defended her existence, but she is NOT the determining factor in which show is better than others. She adds to the show but there are several shows that I would list as better than ones with Susan: Assman, The Switch, The Contest, The Magic Loogie, etc.
