question regarding scheduling

I live in Chicago and on Saturday I watched The Diplomat. From what I know this is the correct episode for syndication. Later that night at midnight I happened to get NBC in South Bend and they were playing The Cafe with Babu. Isn't the whole country on one set syndication schedule or does every market have separate schedules.

I think there are different schedules...this surprised me too. I'm in Boston and watch the syndicated episodes on UPN, and "The Diplomat" was what aired on Saturday. Anybody else?

The weekends are different. The Saturday episode can air Sunday. for example, if there's a long tennis tourney, it's possible for them to get permission to air the episode that didn't air. Never know.
