JASON ALEXANDER: Truman one-man show?

I heard a passing remark somewhere that Jason Alexander performed one of those one-man shows in which he portrayed President Truman. Is there any truth to this, and if it is true, why does he limit himself to goofey movies like DUNSTEN CHECKS IN? I know he had a dramatic role in PRETTY WOMAN, in which he showed the true depths of his talent, but I don't understand his current role selection. It seems like his fame and popularity would provide him with even greater choices. I would at least like to see him in a comedy for adults.
