Macintosh on Jerry Seinfeld's desk?!

Did you notice the The 20th Anniversary Macintosh on Jerry Seinfeld's desk?!

How come when George tried to sell Jerry a computer, he just didn't say "I HAVE ALREADY GOT ONE YOU IDIOT!!!" (?)

Only the Seinfeld's writers know for sure.

I have to interject that I swear i saw(post DuoDock/pre Sparticus ) I saw a PPC61xxCD on Jer's desktop for a couple of episodes...... jvan

I doubt it, they could do a whole episode about Win95

There was indeed a book or box against the computer a season or two ago with the Win95 cloud motif on it. We discussed at the time how it didn't make sense.

Could very well be. Seinfeld always had a mac on his desktop. First it was the Classic, then the DuoBook, and now...

Jerry's got a 20th Anniversary Mac. Clearly a Mac user - he's just never been caught using it. I've also seen on earlier episodes an SE (of unknown flavor), and a Duo with dock and monitor.

When George and Susan were engaged and living at Susan's, it looked as if they had a PowerPC Performa of some type with an Apple 14" or 15" monitor. It's easy to see why George doesn't use Mac as he's clearly Wintel material! "George is getting frustrated!"

Interesting how Mac fans just wont give it up - it's OVER. By next year Apple will be making WebTV units. Within 5 years, the Mac will look like an Apple ][ did five years ago. 10 years ago I would have loved to buy a Mac, but could only afford a PC - does that give you a clue about how important Market share is in business?

As for Seinfeld having a Mac - it's no big deal - Apple has "given" away their products to so many Movies and TV shows that it means nothing.

Ten years ago and now is quite a comparison. Ten years ago Macs *were* expensive; however, since Sept. 1996, prices on lots of models have been slashed and now the argument that PCs are more expensive than Macs is no longer valid (or true).

Sorry to disagree with you once more, but it IS a big deal. Product placement in tv shows and movies is a form of advertising--in case you weren't aware. And the folks behind these shows/movies specifically request Apple, not PC products because they use them themselves.

BTW, The bike in the hall is a Klein. They're sort of like macs in a way, they are expensive, fast, with goregous paint jobs, and their owners love them, but the world that loves popular brand names could never figure them out.

Everything's analogous to the Mac *except* "expensive". Although that used to be the case, beginning in Sept. 1996, prices have been slashed on lots of models!

Forgive the ignorant ramblings of one in Europe who does not watch very much TV. Who is Jerry Seinfeld?

Seinfeld is a sit-com .... usually on between 9pm - 11pm on BBC2.
