The suicide / The comeback

Hey,

Maybe it's already a well-known mistake, but I just wanted to know what others thought of this one:

In The Suicide Kramer knows that Jerry's next door neighbour can come out of a coma, but in The Comeback, he rents a video (The other side of darkness) and he wants Elaine to pull his plugs when he is in a coma. But when he learns that the woman in the movie comes out of a coma, he tells jerry "I didn't know it was possible to come out of a coma".

You could say that this isn't a real mistake, but compared to the quality Seinfeld is made of, I think this is a real writing error, and they didn't think about what happend in The Suicide. I just wanted to know if you think the same way, or already knew this mistake.

Mind you, if we are to believe that Kramer did know in The Suicide (not only that, but he knew about Coma Etiquette), then in The Comeback, he would simply have rented a video, and then taken it back. Exciting?

I doubt they overlooked this rather obvious contradiction. I think what is more likely is that they had this great script but needed Kramer to play the coma part so they could do that scene where he goes with elaine to ben stein (only kramer character would do that type of thing). So rather than dumping the script for the sake of consistency and never using any of that material they did the episode anyway.

Episode 25 from season 3, The Tape. (Just saw the mistake). The buzzer rings while kramer is filming elaine, and he says "That's my chinese food". Then Jerry pushes his own buzzer-button to let the guy in, because it was his buzzer ringing. Then the chinese guy comes up, and he knocks on kramers door, but how could that be if Jerry's buzzer rang? It could be an easy explanation: They heard kramers buzzer, but I don't think you can hear that all the way through those "load barring walls" (or something:). It might be a stupid thing to notice, but it just didn't seem right when you see it...

I don't recall the specifics of that episode, but here's a possibility: Kramer orders food while in Jerry's apartment, and gives his own address. The restaurant gets Jerry's name, however, in one of several ways: they have Caller ID, and it shows up as "Seinfeld"; Kramer gives Jerry's phone number and they associate it with "Seinfeld" through their customer database; or Kramer just says (for whatever reason--perhaps because he knew he'd be at Jerry's?) that it's for "Seinfeld".

The delivery guy rings the buzzer for "Seinfeld", and delivers the food to the apartment listed on the package, which was Kramer's.

Again, that's just one possibility. I haven't seen the episode in a long time, so I'm not really sure.

John.. it's common in San Francisco, and I'm sure in NYC, for cops, delivery people, mail'persons', etc., to ring *every* buzzer... somebody'll ring 'em in. They're often in too much of a hurry to wait for someone who might be in the bathroom or on the phone.
