Meaning of French word, anyone??

In this particular episode, Jerry dated a woman who had never laughed at his jokes and only replyed "That's funny." He later met her beautiful room-mate and was sinfully attracted to her (ironically laughing to all his jokes).

Jerry then tells this to George and both of them plans the "Switch" which has never been done before. Amazingly, George finally came up with a scheme to say this to the girlfriend: " I'm having a 'manaja tua' with your room-mate" I don't know the correct spelling of it. After saying it to her, Jerry seemed to have both of them instead, much to George's envy.

The episode after that, George mentioned the word again to his girl with the velvet couch and a male room-mate and was "attacked" by him.

I don't think this 'manaja tua' means something good but I would really like to know, if not I'll never understand what the joke is all about. And being Seinfeld fans I'm sure you know how that feels?!

Well, as several other people have noted, a menage-a-trois is a sexual encounter between three people. I would take exception with the characterization of this practice as an "orgy", however. In addition, why all the shouting?

A menage in French is a household. A menage a trois is not a mere orgy but a whole arrangement among three people.

The phrase is menage a trois and it refers to three people engaging in sexual activity together. I guess the real question here is if anyone out there has actually done this!

I, unfortuantely, have never been lucky enough to be involved in a menage a trois (but the evening is still young!).

However, I do recall the immortal words of Woody Allen on the subject:

"Sex between two people is a beautiful thing. Between three people, it's FANTASTIC!" :-)

I believe it's spelled "menage a trois" (with some crazy accents), and I think it translates literally as "group of three." Can I just leave the rest to your imagination?

The French phrase is "manage-a-trois", which simply put means to have a threesome. Jerry had expected the original girlfriend to get angry and send him packing; instead she was interested. Jerry did not take up the offer, though George said he should have.

Usually spelled "menage a' trois". What kills me about this episode is the way George's girlfriend and her room-mate react to the suggestion. They're all for it, but that's when the episode ends. I wonder if he went through with it, or told another lie to get out of it? Stacey C.
