I just read a piece in this week's Sports Illustrated concerning the Titans and their expectations of Super Bowl glory. It seems the owner has a thing about the word 'playoffs'. He think's it's a jinx and he insists it not be used within the organization. There were memos sent out from the owner's office to the entire organization urging everyone to refrain, in written or oral communication, from using the word 'Playoffs.' Instead, they are to substitute this with the word 'Festivus' in honor of the non-denominational, non-commercial holiday invented by Frank Costanza.
Ya know, I was never much of a Titans fan, not even when they playing in Houston and called themselves the Oilers, but I have to respect a man who does something like this.
