Criticism does not mean dislike

Ok, I have been new to this board the past few weeks. What I have noticed is that there are a number of people who refuse to let someone make sincere criticisms of the show as they see it. Obviously, people who post here for the most part are going to be fans of the show as I definitely am. I want to see this show be the best it can be because it is one of the few that have been pretty consistent with high quality and great laughs not to mention the memorable characters. When someone sees an episode and gives some criticism, it is not meant as an attack on the show. For myself, I am just pointing out what I think and others point out what they think? Isn't that what this board is for? I am sure that it would be very boring if every post was gushing over the show even when it doesn't deserve it. But most of us want to see this show be terrific and we all share the fact that we do care about how the show goes. I think there are only a few nuts who would deliberately find this board just to put the show down unless they had some personal ax to grind...which is sort of far fetched. So for those people who insist on flaming those who say anything that isn't gushing over the show, remember that you can like someone or something but you don't always have to agree with it and if you care about it, you especially will not be happy if things are getting below par.

Is this constructive criticism that is not meant as an attack:

If that's not an attack on the show, what is it? Then, you obviously weren't even thinking very hard when you wrote it, so you followed up with another letter saying there were two things you found funny in it (Cinemax line & Intern talking about George w/ water). Maybe if you took some more time and watched it again, you would come up with a lot more.

Some criticism is welcomed, but don't start your post by saying that the episode didn't have anything remotely funny, as no true Seinfeld fan (notice, this is a fan newsgroup) would have thought that about any episode.

Look, pal, I stand by what I said. The show basically had nothing funny about it but in an attempt to find a few things that could be looked at as having promise, those two things were what I found. I looked at the show 5 times. Now if you want to take that as an attack that is your problem. It is unfortunate that you can't see the difference between analyzing a show and saying how it is from actually ripping a show to shreds which is what someone who has no experience does. Now if you think the show so hysterical, be my guest and watch it 100 times and laugh your way to the bank.

Yes, I agree with you. I also don't think you an go by some reviewer's notes the day of the show either. You have to watch the show and make your own judgements.
