Fans debate whether Kramer's fictional character name is A.G. or H.E. Pennypacker, with some hearing it differently in different episodes and uncertainty about the correct answer.

Which one is it...I have watched the Millenium episode, and I think it is H.E. but it is not impossible that it may be A.G.

I hear it both ways. I don't think it's possible to tell.

I'd definitely put my money on H.E. I clearly hear a /tch/ type sound in there which shouldn't be there if it was A.G., right? /eitch'ee/ rather than /ei'dgee/, that is. Same in both millenium and puerto rican.

When they air it here in sweden, the subtitles says "H.E". Not that they have to be right, but anyway...

If anyone has it on video, try watching those parts with Closed Caption on, just to get another source. I say another source, cause I am not sure if Closed Caption always uses a script or what is being said, or perhaps a mixture of the two. I was watching a movie on video and decided to turn on the Closed Caption because some sounds in the background were so loud, you couldn't actually hear what the actors were saying in some parts. With Closed Caption I could see what they said, plus some train station announcements in the background which you couldn't hear at all. That makes me believe they may have access to the script. Of course, the actors don't always say all parts of their lines from the scripts too.

Yes, movies apparently do use additional source material. But with some TV shows (and all live programs, of course) the CC is done in real-time, complete with mistakes and misheard words. I'm not sure if Seinfeld's CC was done from a script or in real-time.

I was watching the Simpsons and had the CC on. It showed Homer answer the phone and it was Lisa, but their were a couple of lines that were completely different. It was something the operator said, and you don't hear the operator, if I remember correctly. At least with the Simpsons, it sounds like the CC is working with a script. I've not seen that much difference with Seinfeld while watching it on CC. I have not watched the Simpsons with CC as much as Seinfeld, so I don't know how often that happens.
