I don't know if anyone else saw this but durring yesterdays Jets - Ravens game in Baltimore two fans were holding up Festivus signs. One said "Happy Festivus" and the other said "Festivus Maximus". I'm starting to think this Festivus thing could really catch on!

the 'maximus' end musta' came from a fan of _Gladiator_ and Sein !!!
I think during either the FOX or CBS pre game (or 1/2 time or whichever time they cut away to the sports experts)...one of the crews of that respective station had a festivus pole and was mentioned/shown. I was in the kitchen at the time but heard it on the tube.
My local ABC affiliate also mentioned it a few weeks ago, and they are in competition with the NBC affiliate (which shows Sein at 530 PM EST daily)

Well, with the Ravens the whole "festivus" idea came to be when the coach said he would fine anyone who used the p-word (playoffs) until the officially clinched. And he added that should a player want to refer to the playoffs, he was to call it "festivus"
I guess the fans just ran with the whole idea.
