Seinfeld on DVD anytime soon?

Does anyone have any information if they are releasing anything on DVD sometime in near future?

NOW THERE is a question to yell out at a show...or get someone to interview him and ask that 'hard' question.

They never will though.

Every other piece of sh*t imaginable is coming out and we cant get Sein on DVD...

Jerry wouldn't be able to provide the answer because he doesn't own the show. You'd have to go heckle Castle Rock Entertainment and get them to answer that question.

I seriously doubt he or his agent 'signed away' all creative 'input' from the series.

I believe I read that Jerry either oversaw or at least suggested what to cut for shortening the syndication episodes.

But as long as Castle Rock is making good money on syndication rights, they're not going to put it out on DVD where the revenues are lower.

I had a link to a yahoo story (I believe) that said in so many words how many MILLIONS FOX is making/made on _The X-Files_ DVD release as one example.

It was astounding.

I frequent the alt.xfiles NG, so maybe the link is still there.

Why do you think _24_ is out already, at close to $60 ?

On a related note, earlier today David Lee at alt.tv.frasier announced that S1 and S2 of "Frasier" will be released in the US on DVD next spring (he said the actors were being interviewed tomorrow for the supplements).

I agree that revenues from syndication shouldn't necessarily be compromised by DVD sales. IMO people who are content to see a show in syndication are a different viewer demographic compared with dedicated fans who purchase DVD or VHS releases.

I dont believe there is ANY compromise. It is a win-win scenario for the studios, and the consumers.

I watch Sein on TV and would gladly plunk down the $ to buy a studio-released version...even w/o any extras thrown in.

I wish I could find that URL I had from Yahoo! stating how much FOX makes/made on releases such as the X-Files...also in syndiation ad naseum...but being released on DVD just the same.

I pulled out all my Seinfeld vhs tapes (I taped the show when they aired in the 90's) yesterday, cause I'm finally going to go through them and label the tapes with the actually episode name/cross referenced with the master list -- I played 4-5 of the tapes ... and there is a buzzing sound in a lot of the tapes (like some sort of cheap vcr is responsible -- I thought it was decent at the time) -- very annoying -- I have not checked each tape, but if this is any indication of the quality of video tape -- what a let down 8 - 10 years later.

I WANT THE DVD's SO BADLY NOW. PPPPPPPLLLLLEEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, even other NBC shows are coming out. I guess we just have to play the waiting game

I'm sure it will come out, someday. DVD took off fast, and lots of tv programs are winging up on DVD.

It's just a matter of time, I feel.
