Strange thing in 'The Outing'

I saw the episode again yesterday on BRT1 and there was something strange with this episode. While interviewing Jerry and George, Sharon says to George "you should hear how my boyfriend talks to me". Nothing wrong with that but two days later she's kissing Jerry on his couch.

So did she broke-up with her boyfriend or is she just cheating? As we know Jerry has no problem dating some other guys girlfriend, the episode 'The Suicide' comes to mind where Jerry is dating Gina while her boyfriend Martin is in a coma.

So what's up with Sharon?

The biggest leap in credibility in "The Outing" is this : Why was Mrs. Costanza sharing a hospital room with a man? It was wonderfully funny for two reasons (showing George's discomfort--subtly questioning his own sexual orientation once again and as a tie-in to "The Contest"). It did however require a momentary suspension of belief.
