Alright Already's Carol Leifer, is she the real Elaine?

In the review of the series 'Alright Already' in the LA Times it was mentioned that the Elaine character from "Seinfeld' is supposed to be based on Carol Leifer, the star of this new series. After watching the first episode of 'Alright Already' I thought I saw a lot of similiarities between the two characters. The mannerisms and speech patterns of Elanie seemed to be a slightly exagerated version of Carol's character.

Did anyone else have the same opinion? If you haven't seen the show check it out and post your opinion.

PS I think Carol Leifer has been on Seinfeld a couple of times, as the receptionist of the Chiropractor (Wendy Mailick) who charged George for the time he cancelled his appointment without notice and then dropped off Elaine a few blocks from her home after skiing, and as a worker in the bank where Kramer tried to get $100 because the teller did not say 'hello' to him. She may have been in a couple other episodes also, I can't remember right now.

IIRC Carol Leifer was recently on the Tonight Show. During the interview Jay Leno joked about hanging out with her and Seinfeld. I am pretty sure he said with certainty that she was the real-life motivation for Elaine.

Anyone want to confirm this?

I believe she has written several of the Seinfeld episodes.

i think jerry made the characters pysical apperence way different then the chaacter. for example elaine is thin and carol leifer is husky.i agree with the exageration part. i really don't see leifer as a slut and elaine is sorta a slut.
