George does NOT get laid regularly and when he does, it's at either great personal humiliation or cost. Kramer gets laid at the drop of a hat. Jerry is ALWAYS trying out some new dame or other, and each one is worse than the next. Including Elaines meat obsessed cousin. Elaine is as bad as Jerry. Her guys are losers too, except Putty, who is dense and hilarious. BTW, she had a CRATE of those sponges. Putty is not a plumber, Putty is Jerrys automobile mechanic, a genius at it btw, and so intense about what he does that when he thought Jerry wasn't treating his car well, STOLE Jerry's car away from him about four seasons back. Newman had quite a few escapades. He even had a woman Jerry was kinda crazy about who wouldn't commit to him, who was in the past DUMPED by Newman.

I agree. When she got the all the sponges she was freaked out about guys being "sponge-worthy". So, if Puddy wasn't worth depleting her large supply of sponges, I don't think she'd still be sleeping with him (especially since it's implied that she does so quite often- see the episode where Jerry keeps betting her that she can't stay away from him. Elaine even leaves in the middle of a movie and goes over to Jerry's later to pay up).

Well, but as someone previously mentioned, the same goes for Jerry and George. They certainly do their share of sleeping around. Kramer seems to spend so much time with wacky projects he probably doesn't spend that much time with women.

I think kramer gets more women but just keeps it to himself and know and then makes remarks about all the sex he gets. Besides that the think about aids george has had episodes about condoms and elaine about some weird sex protection (i forgot the name of it!!!)

I really can't believe some of the things I have read in this thread. I find the casual attitude towards sex on the part of these characters to be the most endearing part about them.

These characters are all neurotic, but they are not pretentious. They are all very honest and natural when it comes to sex. The only one with hangups is George, and that's just his fear of his own inadequacy. But, get him to the point where he is sure that the girl accepts him, and they all agree that the more sex you get, the better.

Like I said, I like this attitude. It is very refreshing. It makes these characters ring a little more true. Of course, these are not real people, they are fictional comedic characters. And so, they must be, to some degree, absurd. But they seem just a little less absurd, and a little more like myself and people I know, than any other characters I have ever seen on television.

The episode that played on last Thursday night, around December 11, 1997. Kramer installed a garbage disposal in his shower, with the aid of Puddy (the boyfriend of Elaine's, the one that's so big and dumb looking), who happens to be something of a plumber. Kramer enjoys showering so much that he figured it would be a good idea to shower and prepare salads in the same shower stall, in the nude.

Elaine's co-worker got sick from Elaine spreading her germs all over the room, and Elaine even had the nerve to cough on the doorknobs! No wonder the co-worker got so sick!

Anyway, the co-worker had complained to her boss about Elaine's unclean lifestyle, multiple sex partners (not at the same time, but the general idea is correct), and indiscriminate passions, more or less.

That episode was great! Especially toward the end, when Puddy admitted to being a "reformed Germaphobe" that would have run to the sink to wash up after fooling around with Elaine, had he not years earlier gone through massive amounts of therapy! A true classic that finally tells it the way it is! Great show!

Probably because she just gets "boyfriends" at the drop of a hat, er, handkerchief, er, well, uh, it's not like she lifts up her skirt or anything, though I wouldn't put that past her. When it comes to a love life, Elaine's is more "hyperactive" than "active."

As for George, well, he probably has a scorching case of venereal disease, no doubt. Same thing goes for Kramer (why, he does wear those big baggy jeans, you know). As for Jerry, he at least has some kind of pretense of being "picky" but, in the end, he tends to drop them in the course of the show.

Heaven knows why the actors play those particular roles. SURELY the actors have a voice in their characters' conduct?! The bottom line, though, is that sex sells, and tends to draw an audience, for shock value, if nothing more.

Why is it that you're rehashing the extremely-old 'double standard' issues that have plagued women for years before Jerry was even born?

Thanks for the slam.  The only difference is my request to spell someone's
name right goes straight to the person who spelled it wrong.  The message
is more affective when it goes to the person who it refers to, get it?
Talking about fighting stereotypes to a group of Seinfeld fans doesn't

SORRY. NO WAY. Remember, I don't make a bunch of posts on here saying how terrible Seinfeld is because of the way Elaine is portrayed, etc. I only *respond* to crap that bubbles up in the group. If someone writes, "It's about time Elaine found out what a bio-hazard she is," then I have every right to respond by showing the inconsistency of harping on Elaine and acting like Jerry is fine.

Besides, it's not just me. There have been several other group members saying the same thing.

I agree. Anyway Seinfeld goes after the adult crowd that should know that condoms and safe sex should be performed. So whats the argument? It's a TV show trying to make you laugh and doing a very good job if the ratings mean anything. One of the best things I enjoy about Seinfeld is that they dont always do whats politically correct they kind of teater on the edge a lot, not like most of the crap on TV (excluding the Simpsons of course). Its comedy, not real life. Take everything on TV with a grain of salt because most of it is B.S. anyway.
