HELP-Last Episode Ruined it All

I faithfully watched Jerry and co. for nine years but after the rotten last episode I find I cannot sit through any more old episodes. I no longer like the show. Can anyone help me??????

I hadn't really thought about it, but I haven't watched the show since the last episode either. I just haven't had the desire to. If you want to like it again, I think the best idea would be just to watch some of the earlier shows and put the last one out of your mind. --Julia

You people are so funny. Did you _have_ to be told that the characters involved were simply just typical '90s "I/me/my" people? And after having learned this, do you have to go off in a corner and pout?

"Seinfeld" is way too good a show for one episode to destroy the other 170 or so, so don't let it... In fact, it's even too good to be done in by the last two subpar seasons...

I have a friend who also could not watch it anymore. She hasnt managed to tell me WHY. Can you tell us more specifics. What has turned you off. Why have your feelings about the show changed? Maybe someone can help.

It's almost as if Newman got hold of the writers and played havoc with the other characters- leaving a bad taste in .lots of people's mouths. : )

I felt the same way after the last episode. I felt let down and betrayed because it seemed that to love those characters was to love terrible asocial people. So I watched it again and I was able to lose some of that early sourness. In Jerry's words, "I sweetened or de-soured". Now I can still laugh at the old episodes, especially when I see tonight's "the dingo ate your baby" by Elaine. Hope this helps.

Was this because of reading others' responses - interpretations - saying that justice was served, they got what they deserved? Or did you feel yourself during or after the show that they were terrible people? cc

I know it is a tv show--but I have been a faithful viewer for most of its 9 year run, so it seems closer than just a tv show. I thought it was wrong to depict the"flawed" characters we loved and laughed at (in a good way) for years as jailworthy. That alone seemed out of character and unnecessary. The whole show had an irregular flow and few witty lines. The four main cast members were shut out in the final episode. That hurt those of us who would have liked to see them being their funny selves one last time. EW said it best when they said it was like Seinfeld was saying, "So long, Suckers," to his fans. alt showbiz gossip

I havent had the same experience from the final seinfeld episode, but I understand the feeling. I went to see a band one time that had a couple of CD's that I really liked. The live show was so bad that when I tried to listen to the CD's after the live show, I found them to be repulsive and repugnant. From that time on I have never been able to listen to this band. I guess its is a similar situation to the original poster and seinfeld.
