Did anyone else besides me interpret the discussions of the George's insults in tonight's episode to be actually describing some of the problems the writers of the show are going through? I don't know, it just seemed like that the writers of the show would seem to be arguing over the same types of things, especially with the quality of the show in decline recently. Maybe I'm just going insane.

The weird thing is that the show has much of the same writers as they did before. What they are truly missing is the edge of Larry David. Whatever they paid him, it wasn't enough.
I think the opinion that this season is somehow weak or less than the previous years is the easiest one in the world to make. It's like saying a book was better than the movie based on it. This year has had one or two sketchy epsisodes but they are back on track, enough to agree to another season!! Some of the more recent ones will become classics. You just have to give them some time. The episode with Kenny Roger's Roasters is one of the best they have done. Look for any episode written by Spike Feresten to be good! So, to all who are criticizing this year so much, I say watch the first season, and see how far they have come!!1

I took it as reflective of writer arguments about jokes.
Though I disagree about the quality going down --- I think the season is on a par with other recent seasons though perhaps not up to the 92-93 benchmark.
