I just saw Voyager now (plays Saturdays here on CTV) and I noticed the soup reference too. I wonder if his casting on Voyager and the alien they had him play was inspired by his own characterization of a genius in "The Abstinence". He acted in pretty much the same style that he'd used in that episode.

Technicially, it's not up to us to 'let or not let' the the cast of Seinfeld 'MOVE ON'. Sometimes, stars are forever associated with certain roles or songs in the case of singers. It's always been like that. The cast of Seinfeld even allowed for it themselves in negotiating their contracts (meaning they should get more money if they do decide to do what turned out to be the last season) because they were getting so associated with their roles as to hinder future roles. The interview in which Jason Alexander talks about it was on Charlie Rose. They have neo-Freudian revisionists groups, why not neo-Seinfeld ones?

Hi Raining900. Since I brought it up, I thought it would be rude not to respond, even though you didn't mention me by name and even though I don't have much to offer since I caught it by chance (whew):-) Rose is on so late I was too exhausted to run downstairs and tape it. Most of it was anecdotal, one of which was how they would all go into work and felt so bad for the camera crew and stagehands because everyone knew about the contracts and that there might not be another season etc., etc. but that they had to do it simply because they knew how much money the network was making on them.............Hopefully, someone else in the group can help you better, hopefully, they have already. I even liked Jason Alexander when he did his singing stuff on PBS. He was so cute in his tux, it reminded me of him in that little tux in the Seinfeld episode when he was scalping tickets with Kramer for the opera. Take care.

I thought Jason Alexander's performance was decent. Other guest stars have done it better (like Virginia Masden [I think that's her name] and -- but of course -- John de Lancie), but Alexander didn't suck.
Funny how the Hazani (sp?) told Janeway that the think tank had made many enemies in that region, and this has been said of Voy many times. What did one of the aliens they encountered say, that Voy is called the ship of death?
But c'mon, didn't you know that the Hazanis' client was the think tank from the get go?
Still, not a bad ep, just decent.
