Am I the only one who thinks that the music in the first episode sounds much better than the one used in all the other episodes?

Fans agree the original pilot music from the first episode is superior to the theme used in subsequent episodes, with one noting it sounds too sitcom-like and incompatible with the show's ethos.

Does anyone know what kind of instrument they are using in the middle of two scenes, it sames to be a base-guitar, is it?
It's a keyboard playing a patch of a bass guitar sound, with lots of attack, and a quick decay.
