I thought that it was a parody of the joyful dance in the NYC theater district from the Producers done by Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder in regard to the tax writeoff flop play that they wrote.

No not Springtime for Hitler. I can't remember the context since it's been 15 yrs. since I saw the movie but Wilder and Mostel did a gleeful outdoor romp sometime early on in The Producers.
