(1) NIXON took off in AF-1 but did not land that way. ========================================== On August 9, 1974 for example, shortly after Secretary of State Henry Kissenger read President Nixon's formal letter of resignation, air traffic control in Kansas received the following message: "Kansas city this is former Air Force One, please change our call sign to SAM27000."

(2) VP Johnson took off in AF-2 but landed as President in AF-1 ===================================================== Johnson was sworn in as president aboard the airplane.

So, because of these two anomilies it is still the same number of times...for take offs and landings.
