Norman Newman?

The farmer's daughter most definitely says, "Good-bye, Norman," (The Bottle Deposit). Did she mispronounce his name...or...did he give a slightly phony name (they did misuse a mail truck)...or....is his name actually Norman Newman? In an early episode, before Wayne Knight was cast in the roll, wasn't he an off-screen voice who Kramer referred to as "Norman"?

I seem to recall from previous posts that the girl just messed up the line and they left it in because it was even funnier that way. Can anyone verify or refute?

Verify. Jerry was onced asked this question durint an episode taping, and his answer was that the woman was supposed to say 'Newman', but she messed up the line, and Larry David thought it was even funnier that the woman who said she'd never forget him didn't even get his name right.

It was just one of those accidental moments that works better than the
script, like at the end of "The Parking Garage" when they all finally
find Kramer's car and they pile in and the car won't start.  They were
supposed to just drive away, but the car wouldn't start and that just
made the ending so much funnier.
