When I saw Seinfeld live on stage once, near the end of that season, one of the people asked who won the contest (it was during the Q&A session). He said that it was George but said "We're thinking of having this part next season where it turns out that no one told him that he won, so he's still master of his domain." A footnote to my previous message: He also said that you'd probably never seen Delores again because "she's like Captain Kirk's woman on Star Trek, she'd be turned into a cube by the first commercial." We all know how that turned out.
