Frazier

Frazier isn't a very good show. Let's be honest about this. I mean, I miss Cheers very, very, very much, but I would much rather have seen a spinoff with Woody.

Oh, OK... then its a VERY good show! There is certainly NO other "new" comedy series more worth watching, thats for sure.

It just so happens that ex-virgin Jane Leeves is VERY funny, and is one of my favorite characters (along with Eddie).

Are you kidding?? That would be about the most BORING thing on earth! Frasier was (of course) the only really "natural" Cheers spinoff. They had been thinking about it for several years now...

So far it has been BETTER than what I expected. The writing is very good, and so is the cast. I'm very much looking forward to seeing more episodes.

AND... btw, it has also been getting VERY good ratings.

A spinnoff with Carla would have been better. Norm is much more entertaining. (do you remember the episode when he began a business and had to be Mr. Crankshaft, the bad cop boss. We might have met Vera.)

But let me get back to Woody. A farm boy on city council with Kelly as a wife? Now that's entertainment, especially when you consider what the really Boston city council is like... he would have fit right it. But that's beside the point. Frazier is funny as the voice of Sideshow Bob, but not much else. I always thought he was the weakest character on the show, maybe only Rebecca being worse.

Good writing can't save an unimaginative storyline.

So does America's Funniest Home Videos. And that's lame.

I definitely do not think so. There just isn't anything there for a "series". Besides, they ALREADY had a "Tortellis" spinoff several years ago, and it didn't last very long.

Norm is a great character, but again there is not much for a "series". The longest running idea for a Cheers spinnoff has been to use Fraiser and Lilith, but unfortunately Bebe Neuwirth wanted to do movies. Those two characters were some of their very best ideas on Cheers.

No, it sounds VERY boring. Woody was good for those intermittent "Coach" straight lines, and the occasional amusing idea for his character to work off... but no way was it "series" material.

???? What on earth are you doing in a SEINFELD group with ideas like that? Fraiser was always a source for some of the BEST lines in the whole series... tons of great "highbrow" jokes, and even better bouts of sarcasm. Don't tell me, the ONLY character you like on Seinfeld is Kramer, right? :->

The "storyline" is certainly what had me the most worried, *especially* the part about the "father moving in", etc. BUT... the cast and the WRITING have more than overcome any problems that I may have been expecting.

Besides, this is all pointless. If you considered Fraiser the worst character on Cheers, then *OBVIOUSLY* you are going to hate a series based on him, and I don't see why you would even bother watching in the first place... except as an excuse to complain about it.

Ha! That junk is ranked somewhere down in the 60s. You call that good? Fraiser tied for #3 with Seinfeld! Now THAT is a good rating.

I haven't made up my mind about Frazier yet. I do like the actore who plays his brother. I remember him from the Powers That Be. As for Cheers, I felt it lost its edge years ago. I don't miss it.

Personally, I think a show about Cliffy would be hysterical... He's the funniest on Cheers.
